Where To Stay In Siquijor: Best Area To Stay

The best area for all travellers to stay in on Siquijor Island is San Juan, this is where you find a cluster of bars and restaurants, plus it’s close to Paliton Beach, our favourite spot to enjoy the world famous Philippine sunsets. San Juan is also a great base to explore the best things to do around Siquijor.

Other areas to stay include Lazi and Larena; Lazi is further east from San Juan in a more secluded area of the island. Here you can find luxury resorts, plus what seems like an out of place Mad Monkey Hostel. In the north, Larena is the main port, again it’s not as popular as San Juan and further from the main attractions of the island. You can however still find family friendly resorts and budget hostels for those looking to explore the culture and history of Siquijor.

How To Get To Siquijor?

Siquijor is a relatively small Filipino island with a very small airport so the best way to get there is by ferry, however if you want to fly flights run daily from Cebu and take roughly an hour.

Ferries run very often from the nearby islands of Cebu, Negros and Bohol making it easily accessible. One of the most popular routes is from Moalboal after flying into Cebu City, this is what we opted for and would highly recommend it.
