Sagada Lemon Pie House - Where To Eat The Best Sagada Pies!
Sagada is famous for tangy, citrus lemon pie and the most popular place to try a slice is Sagada Lemon Pie House. A flaky pastry, tart lemon curd and smooth meringue make up the secret recipe served in the quaint diner. Not only is the pie delicious but the ambiance inside is cosy and nostalgic transporting you to a log cabin somewhere in North America. The tables are low and you can choose to sit on a tiny chair, floor or the porch outside. We enjoyed a slice of pie with friends alongside a local Sagada tea, exactly what was needed after our sunrise hike to Marlboro Hill.

Where Is Sagada Lemon Pie House ?
Sagada is small with only a few roads, you can find lemon Pie house down the hill on South road. You can’t miss the striking yellow building, pop in and order a slice of the best Lemon Pie in Sagada!
How To Get To The Sagada Lemon Pie House?
As Sagada is not a large town, and famous for walking, we recommend taking a stroll down to the restaurant, if you’re too tired after all your activities you could hail a tricycle.
Sagada Lemon Pie House Description
The building is bright and the colour of ripe lemons but as you enter you’re welcomed by a wooden interior that creates a hiker’s lodge vibe. We took a seat on minute chairs but we could have also chosen the Japanese style tables and cushions or a seat outside out on the patio.
Of course we ordered the famous Sagada Lemon Pie (₽25) as well as a local mountain tea (₽15). It’s worth noting they have lots of other options on the menu and you could come here for breakfast, lunch or just a snack like us.
The tea was smoky and warmed from within, the perfect pick me up after a long hike and the pie… Well, we could see why this was the most popular spot to try Sagada’s delicacy.
The pie has buttery pastry and a tart lemon curd which is then topped with a sweet meringue. As we travel on a budget we don’t often indulge in desserts but this one is a must, it would be a crime to leave Sagada without trying at least one slice.
The price of a slice is ₽25 and it’s well worth the money!

Sagada Lemon Pie Recipe
This one is kept a close family secret so I’m afraid we do not know! We do know however that they use lemons locally grown in Sagada.
Sagada Lemon Pie House Menu
The restaurant doesn’t only sell Lemon Pie, they also have an insanely popular egg pie as well as a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. You can get traditional Filipino meals such as adobo, fried chicken and chicken curry.
Why Is Lemon Pie Famous In Sagada?
In Sagada due to the different climate different produce can be grown than in the rest of the Philippines. Oranges and lemons are grown locally in Sagada, and make the best flavoured lemon curd. You may see lemon pies being sold from vendors' carts on the side of the road or you can visit restaurants who hand make the pies each day.
Sagada is also famous for growing arabica coffee beans so we recommended trying a cup of local coffee or a cup of the local mountain tea alongside your slice of pie.

Best Places To Stay Sagada
Sagada Mountain Province holds a special place in our hearts. We truly found a home away from home here and loved our time spent in the mountains and above the clouds. There are lots of accommodation options and we recommend you find somewhere that is walkable to the tourist information centre where you’ll register and sort tours. One of Sagada’s rules is you have to use their local transport to get to the attractions meaning a local hotel or hostel is vital.

Top Tips For Travelling The Philippines
If you’re visiting the Philippines here are our top travel tips:
Book flights in advance - they can become expensive if you leave it last minute… oh and check your luggage allowance to skip expensive check in fees at the airport. Don't forget your Apple Airtags to track your bags
Agree on taxi prices upfront - when getting into a tuk-tuk, tricycle or taxi, make sure you agree on a price or they have a meter, so many tourists get ripped off with a huge price tag at the end of the ride.
Take it slow - don't feel the need to see all the islands, we recommend picking a few and doing them properly. See the island in full, find some locals and sing Karaoke..
Embrace the chaos and get stuck in, the locals are friendly and love to help and share information about their home!
