Munduk Golden Valley Waterfall: Bali Eco Cafe

Bali is home to some of the best tropical waterfalls on earth and Munduk’s Golden Valley Waterfall is no exception, standing 50 feet tall with cascading water rushing over the edge of lush green jungle. The power of the waterfall has the ability to make you feel so small compared to mother nature.

With a lovely Eco-Cafe on site, the golden valley waterfall can either be reached via short trek from the main road or through the Four Waterfalls Walk, a strenuous day out through Munduk’s stunning valley.

Where Is The Golden Valley Waterfall?

The waterfall is located in the mountain town of Munduk, in the northern province of Bali, famous for its lush green rice fields, rolling hills and epic waterfalls. The golden valley waterfall is located on the edge of town next to an Eco-Cafe just off of the main road. Location 📌

How To Get To Golden Valley Waterfall Munduk?

Rental Scooter

The first and best option to get to Golden Valley Waterfall is via rental scooter from your hotel or hostel. The roads in Munduk can be steep & windy so make sure you have a little bit of experience driving before setting off. It’s only a 10 minute drive from the main town of Munduk where most of the restaurants are located. Having your own scooter for the day also allows you the flexibility to explore other sights at your own pace, it’s definitely the best way to get around Bali.

Taxi or Private Tour

If you don’t fancy driving the chaotic roads of Bali then we don’t blame you, alternatively you could get a taxi. The town of Munduk generally seemed to be against the adoption of Grab so maybe ask your hotel reception to order one. Another option if you are in a large group or family is to get a private driver for the day.

Hike

Finally, if you’re like us and love a good hike, you can choose to walk to the golden valley waterfall access point, it will take around an hour from the main town and it’s all uphill. We decided to spend the whole day out and do the famous Munduk Four Waterfalls Walk which includes the golden valley falls and we highly recommend it although it’s not easy.

Munduk Golden Valley Waterfall Bali

Nestled amongst thick, lush jungle vines, Munduk’s Golden Valley Waterfall is one of Bali’s best displays of nature. On privately owned land with a small eco-cafe on site, the owner only asks for a donation given via an honesty box. Cascading water 50 feet above the grounds falls into a small pool below, giving a great opportunity to get close or have a cooling dip.

Unlike all of the other falls on the trek which charge an entry fee per person, the donation box was a lovely touch so we also decided to buy a drink each in the cafe.

Technically a Five Waterfalls Walk, we highly recommend doing the Munduk Waterfalls Trek if you’re up for a challenge. As well as visiting Golden Valley Waterfall, it also includes the following, all along the same route:

How Hard Is The Hike To Golden Valley?

It depends! If you visit from the main road, golden valley falls is very easy to get to via a short walk down to the Eco-Cafe from the road. Alternatively, visiting from the other entrance near Red Coral Waterfall is slightly more difficult and longer.

When Is The Best Time To Visit The Golden Valley Waterfall?

The best time to visit Munduk is during the dry season (April-September), this will mean the trail is dry, the weather is predictable and there is still some water cascading down. The best time to see the waterfalls will be just after rainfall.

How Much Is Entrance To Golden Valley Waterfall?

Currently Free, with a small donation box! We chose to give a small donation and get a drink each in the cafe. It was nice to see the donation box compared to all of the other waterfalls in Munduk which the locals charge tourists for.

Final Thoughts on Munduk’s Golden Valley Waterfall

A 50 foot cascading waterfall in the heart of Munduk in northern Bali, Golden Valley Waterfall is a stunning sight of nature. We highly recommend visiting golden valley waterfall whether you decide to trek from Red Coral Waterfall or enter via a short walk from the main road.
