Labuhan Kebo Waterfall: Munduk’s Fairytale Falls
Welcome to Labuhan Kebo Waterfall, a cascade of water that’s nestled and intertwined with jungle vines, deep-green vegetation and only a short walk from Munduk, our favourite town in Bali. Munduk is a mountain province that offers endless waterfalls, rice terraces, mountain views and lakes and is a must add to your itinerary for the island. It still feels like authentic Bali with plenty of local homestays and warungs, unlike the over-touristy south.
One of my favourite waterfalls in the area due to the fairytale feeling, you feel like you’ve been transported to a land far away. At the falls you can cross a bamboo bridge to get even closer to the powerful flow and feel the energising spray splashing your face.
We recommend visiting during the Munduk Four Waterfalls Trek, this will combine some of the best waterfalls in the area. Here’s everything you need to know before visiting Labuhan Kebo Waterfall in Munduk.

Where Is Labuhan Kebo Waterfall?
In the heart of Bali lies Munduk, a small mountain town with some of the most spectacular tropical waterfalls we’ve ever seen. Munduk is around 2 hours from Ubud and well worth the visit for a few nights in our opinion.
How To Get To Labuhan Kebo Waterfall?
We started the trek to the waterfall from Melanting Cottages. Follow the path and go past Belong Waterfall, you should come to a split. Head left, the split was well sign posted, carry on until you reach the ticket booth for the waterfall on the left hand side, around five minutes down some steep steps will bring you into the valley and to the base of the waterfall.
About Labuhan Kebo Waterfall
Labuhan Kebo was the second waterfall we visited during our Four Waterfalls Trek and has considerably less stairs than Melanting, meaning some people choose to start the trek here and skip Melanting Falls. Although this should make Labuhan Kebo busier, when we visited there were still only a handful of people here.
Surrounded by Balinese Jungle, Labuhan Kebo is powerful and magical. It’s the perfect place to snap an atmospheric photo and enjoy the rush of cold water. To cool off from the humidity, you can swim in the waterfall’s stream, however when we visited we chose to take a dip in Belong Waterfall instead as it was more suitable for swimming at the base. There was also a changing room and toilet at Labuhan Kebo meaning you can get into dry clothes before carrying on with the hike.
