What To Expect at Klong Khong Beach

The laid-back vibe and less touristy strip of sand were enough to draw us to its shores and in fact when we visited it was incredibly quiet. This was largely due to the wet season (May - Oct) being in full swing but even so, we marvelled at the long stretch of golden sand.

The beach has soft golden sand mixed with small rocks and coral fragments. What truly distinguishes Klong Khong from other beaches on Koh Lanta is its unique hippie vibe and relaxed atmosphere.

The beach is lined with colourful bars and restaurants built directly on the sand, many decorated with driftwood art.

During high tide, the water reaches almost to the beach bars, creating a picturesque setting where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. At low tide, the rocky seabed is exposed, revealing small tide pools perfect for exploring marine life.

As Klong Khong Beach faces west, this is a prime spot to watch the sunset and unwind in one of the chilled beach bars, although this is not a party-heavy beach in the high season it is still a social area.
