Siquijor is commonly known for beautiful beaches, boasting a rich marine ecosystem around the island. However it has so much to offer inland, the waterfalls of Siquijor are some of the best we saw in the Philippines (especially Cambugahay), and the caves matched those of Sagada.

Best Waterfalls In Siquijor

Lugnason Falls

Surrounded by lush green jungle in the heart of Siquijor lies the cascading Lugnason waterfall. With rope swings and beautiful refreshing water, many visitors choose to visit Lugnason instead of the busier Cambugahay if you prefer less crowds. Location 📌

Locong Falls - Top Things To Do In Siquijor

Locong Falls: One Of The Quietest Siquijor Waterfalls

This hidden gem is one of Siquijor’s best waterfalls, it’s certainly not the tallest or most beautiful on the island, however it is nestled amongst the dense jungle, a hidden oasis with a rope swing jump and bamboo benches to relax. We had Locong Falls all to ourselves which made for a nice change compared to many of the other attractions on the island. Location 📌

Kawasan Falls: Hidden Siquijor Waterfall

A small and conserved waterfall with a hidden cave and Tarzan swing. If you prefer more off the beaten track adventures with less tourists, then Kawasan is just that. Location 📌

Cambugahay Falls: Famous Falls In Siquijor

The most famous Siquijor attraction is Cambugahay Falls, a multi-tier waterfall with vibrant blue waters. Head to this Siquijor cascade early or face the huge crowds that flock to this attraction, although it is probably still Siquijor’s best waterfall, it’s certainly the busiest. Location 📌

Lagaan Falls

Another gem of a waterfall on Siquijor and a natural playground, explore Lagaan Falls with a short walk down to the pool. With benches and easy access in and out of the water, a rope swing, natural slide and even a small cave. You could easily spend an hour or two at Lagaan falls as this is a beautiful spot. Location 📌

Cangbangag Falls

Cangbangag Falls is Siquijor’s tallest waterfall and not the easiest to get to, you’ll most likely need to drive a scooter to get to Cangbangag Falls and make sure it’s not peak dry season as it can dry up easily. Once you manage to park your scooter, you’ll then have to face a treacherous hike down to the pool, well worth it however based on all of the Google Reviews. Location 📌

Best Siquijor Caves

Cantabon Cave: Best Cave In Siquijor

Wading through the underground Cantabon Cave system in the heart of the Mount Bandilaan National Park, will feel like you’ve been transported to another world. Learn about the rock formations and all about the underground wildlife that survives in the dark, cold conditions. The National Park also offers plenty of other things to do and see nearby. This was our favourite cave in Siquijor. Location 📌

Canhaling Cave

A stunning spiral staircase leading you to what feels like the centre of Siquijor! This place is pretty undiscovered with little infrastructure setup and no guides hassling you. If you prefer to explore on your own terms, then this cave is for you, with overgrown plants and very slippery rocks, you will eventually come out to a bat filled cave with a refreshing pool. Location 📌

Sambulawan Underground River

A narrow cave system with crystal clear blue water, Sambulawan Underground River is for the adventurous. Discover the stalagmites and stalactites formed over hundreds of years as well as trek under thousands of bats that populate the cave roof above! This is one of the most popular Siquijor caves. How To Get To Siquijor?

Siquijor is a relatively small Filipino island with a very small airport so the best way to get there is by ferry, however flights run daily from Cebu and take roughly an hour but expect it to cost!

Ferries run very often from the nearby islands of Cebu, Negros and Bohol making it easily accessible. One of the most popular routes is from Moalboal after flying into Cebu City, this is what we opted for and would highly recommend it.

We recommend using 12Go to book Ferries & Busses, also Rome2Rio for all of your travel planning needs in Asia.

Best Places To Eat In Siquijor

Y-Road - A small unassuming restaurant near Locong Falls that serves some of the best local food on the island.

Roadside Diner - a local eatery that serves the best bbq chicken we’ve ever tasted and at a budget friendly price. If you’re in Siquijor you need to eat at Roadside Diner at least once!

Marco Polo Italian Restaurants - If you're looking for Western Food you can grab a great pizza here.

Best Places To Stay Siquijor

Siquijor has lots of accommodation whether you’re looking for a dive school, a luxury resort or a budget hostel you’ll be able to find somewhere. We recommend staying in the main hub of San Juan as this is where most of the restaurants are located as well as easy access to most of Siquijor's best tourist spots.

We use Booking.com, Agoda and HostelWorld for all of our stays in The Philippines!

Below is a list of top accommodations we recommend for San Juan, Siquijor:

Looking for an eco-lodge away from the main strip? Lazy Lizard is a great budget opiton for your stay in San Juan. Up from the main road it is quiet, in the jungle and offer scooter hire. There’s options for private rooms or shared dorms.
Perhaps you want something more luxury or your here for the diving! Apo Diver’s Resort offers sea views on the beach front with a beautiful pool and chill out spot.
Backing onto Tubod Marine Reserve this is a great luxury choice if you love snorkelling. The resort also boasts a large seafront swimming pool, free coffee and breakfast as well as an on-site restaurant.
