Belong Waterfall Bali, The Fifth Waterfall in Munduk’s Four Waterfalls Walk
Belong Waterfall in Munduk Bali is the extra and lesser known waterfall on the four waterfalls trek, however it shouldn’t be skipped as it was not only the quietest but also the only one we went swimming in due to the large pool that has formed at the base of the falls.
Down a series of muddy steps and across a bamboo bridge you will find Belong Falls which is surrounded by large pebbles and tangled rainforest. You can visit the falls either at the start or end of your four waterfalls walk, we would recommend at the end so you can strip off and enjoy the freezing cold water after hours of trekking in Bali’s humidity.

Where Is Belong Waterfall?
In Bali’s mountainous region you can find the village of Munduk, our favourite town on the island. Belong Waterfall is located on the entrance track to the four waterfalls walk, head to Melanting Cottages and just past the car park on your left hand side. you'll find the path.
How To Get To Belong Waterfall?
Rental Scooter
The first and easiest option to get to Belong Waterfall is via rental scooter from your hotel or hostel. The roads in Munduk can be steep & windy so make sure you have a little bit of experience driving before setting off. It’s only a 4 minute drive from the main town of Munduk where most of the restaurants are located. Having your own scooter for the day also allows you the flexibility to explore other sights at your own pace, it’s definitely the best way to get around Bali.
Hike
If you’re like us and love a good hike, you can choose to walk to Belong falls from your accommodation, it will take around 15 minutes from the main town all uphill. We decided to spend the whole day out and do the famous Munduk Four Waterfalls Walk which doesn’t include Belong, however Belong is on the track, I have no idea why it’s not called the Five Waterfalls Walk.
Belong Waterfall Description
A quick, steep descent down muddy stairs will bring you to the base of the falls. With a picturesque bamboo bridge and no one else around, this was my favourite waterfall on the hike, although it’s not the most impressive, we think Melanting Waterfall wins that!
It didn’t take too much convincing before we stripped down to our swimwear ready to wash off the hike’s sweat. The water was ice cold and we struggled to stay in for more than five minutes but it was super refreshing and woke us up ready for the evening which was spent enjoying Nasi Goreng in Warung Genitri.
Technically a Five Waterfalls Walk, we highly recommend doing the Munduk Waterfalls Trek if you’re up for a challenge. Although Belong isn’t officially included it’s located on the same path, the official walk also includes the following waterfalls:

How Hard Is The Hike To Belong Falls?
Belong falls is one of the most accessible as it’s on the access track to the four waterfalls walk. You will still need to be able to get down a series of muddy stairs… and back up again but anyone with a moderate level of fitness should be fine.

The best time to visit any waterfall is straight after rainfall as the flow will be at its strongest. We visited in the dry season and there was still plenty of water making this an all year round attraction.
Final Thoughts on Belong Waterfall Munduk, Bali
We highly recommend doing the four waterfalls loop through Munduk’s immense valley, by the end of the day you’ll be waterfall’d out but you will have seen some of the best tropical waterfalls in the world. Belong Waterfall is right up there, and the pool at the bottom made it a perfect spot to go for a dip after a long day trekking. Alternatively you could just visit Belong on its own due to its close proximity to the road and shorter hike compared to Melanting.
