Alegria Beach - Siargao’s Quietest Beach
Perhaps one of the quietest beaches on Siargao, Alegria Beach boasts crystal blue waters, white sand, tropical palm trees and shaded kubos for rent. If you’re looking for a slice of peace and paradise away from busy General Luna then we recommend heading up north to explore the large stretch of white sand that is Alegria Beach.
Although not a surfing beach you can cool off in the shallow waters and relax on the hot sands while admiring the stunning Filipino coast line. It’s a perfect place to top up your tan while relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of Tourism Road.
We share a complete guide to Alegria beach below including how to get there, nearby restaurants, what to bring and everything else you need to know.

Where Is Alegria Beach Siargao?
Alegria beach, Siargao is located in the North East of the island. Right on the tip of the island you can find the secluded beach, due to the location this beach is much quieter than others but depending where you are on the island it may be quite a drive to get to.
How To Get To Alegria Beach?
If you’re staying in the main hub of General Luna the drive takes 1.5 hours. This may seem like a long trip but you can break it up by visiting other attractions on the way such as the Magpupungko Rock Pools, Tayangban Cave or Pacifico Beach for some of the island's best surfing.
The best way to navigate Siargao is by scooter, we rented ours for ₽300 a day and loved whizzing up North to explore more of the island. On the way you’ll spot so many sights of local life including the water buffalo, small villages and vulcanising shops (garages), we were unfortunate enough to get two flat tyres!
If you don't fancy driving a scooter in the hot midday heat we don't blame you! We recommend Hiring a Private Driver to take you around the island. This Budget Land Tour in Siargao has over 1 thousand bookings and 4.5 star ratings!
What To Expect From Alegria Beach
Access To The Beach
As we drove down the access road towards the beach we were stopped by a rope with plastic bottles stretched across the road. This is the locals charging us to use the road, afterwards we found out the government has made it illegal to charge people to use the beach so now the locals charge people to use the roads. The fees seem to vary a little but we paid ₽20 per person and drove down towards the parking area where we had to pay a parking fee.
Amenities At Alegria Beach
At Alegria Beach you can hire Kubos for the day to get some much needed shade. Luckily when we arrived the sun was in the right place so the palm trees provided us with some relief from the relentless midday heat.
If you’re looking for food on the beachfront, you can find 3B Bar & Restaurant as well as DaRosa Del Mar Beach Resort & Restaurants which is found slightly North of the beach.
You will also find the usual stalls selling fresh coconuts and other random bits and bobs.
What To Do Near Alegria Beach
A short drive away you can explore Tak Tak Falls, one of the best waterfalls on Siargao, you can also head to Magpupungko Rock Pools or Pacifico Beach to try your hand at surfing.
We can also recommend if you’re driving from or back to General Luna to stop off at Ging’s Restaurant for some of the best squid adobo in Siargao! We ate here twice and not only was the hospitality on point, the food was the best we had in the whole of the Philippines. It’s a small restaurant in the local fishing village of Pilar, with everything cooked fresh by Ging, the amazing Google reviews speak for themselves.

Below we share some recommend places to stay in General Luna, Siargao:
Where We Stayed In General Luna
We chose the budget option of Dream Catcher Nipas when staying in General Luna mainly due to the kitchen which allowed us to cook our own breakfasts and lunches. These are very basic triangular huts which have mattresses on the floor so don't expect anything fancy, but the location is perfect for General Luna and the grounds are lovely.

Top Tips For Travelling The Philippines
If you’re visiting the Philippines here are our top travel tips:
Book flights in advance - they can become expensive if you leave it last minute… oh and check your luggage allowance to skip expensive check in fees at the airport. Don't forget your Apple Airtags to track your bags
Agree on taxi prices upfront - when getting into a tuk-tuk, tricycle or taxi, make sure you agree on a price or they have a meter, so many tourists get ripped off with a huge price tag at the end of the ride.
Take it slow - don't feel the need to see all the islands, we recommend picking a few and doing them properly. See the island in full, find some locals and sing Karaoke..
Embrace the chaos and get stuck in, the locals are friendly and love to help and share information about their home!
